I love Peeps. I love Peeps.
Did I mention I LOVE PEEPS?
Because I do. I love Peeps. I have made many a Peeps themed craft over the years. Peeps Martinis, Peeps Cupcakes, Peeps Bouquets, Peeps Jewelry, and today I’m sharing some more Easy Peeps Cupcakes. No need to bake from scratch, use a mix and grab a couple of cans of colored frosting with fancy tips. The kids can join the fun!
Ingredients (These are affiliate links, if you click on a link and make a purchase we get a small percentage of the sale. That’s how we stay stocked up on Peeps candies!):
Peeps Brand Candies Bunnies and Chicks
Pilsbury White Cake Mix (use egg whites)
Pink Icing with Tips
Yellow Icing with Tips
Pink and Yellow Icing Colors (Works great in batter!)
Wilton Daisy Mini Icing Decorations
Wilton Blossoms Baking Cups Pink and Yellow
Colorful Paper Easter Grass
Mix batter according to directions on box. Use only egg whites so the mix is white and not yellow.
Separate batter into two bowls. Add pink food dye to one bowl and yellow to the other, mix thoroughly.
Pour batter into lined muffin tins. Add half of each color to each tin.
Use a wooden skewer to swirl batter, but don’t mix colors. You want to have yellow and pink areas in each cupcake.
Bake according to directions on box. I overfilled my cupcake liners…oops.
Use the star shaped tip on your frosting to make six flower petals as shown. Fill the petal centers.
Add your birds or bunnies. The bunnies will stay better if you use toothpicks, but make sure you tell your guests so they don’t bite into a toothpick. Nobody likes that.
Add a skootch of icing to the center of each bird and one ear on each bunny and press a candy flower in each one.
I found these cute floral treat cups from Wilton, they take up a lot of space on the plates so it depends on how you want to present your cupcakes.
You can line them up on a plate…
Dress them up solo with pastel paper shreds and floral treat cups.
How cute are these?
Don’t just make them…
Peep, peep, hooray!
If you make some of these Easy Peeps Cupcakes, we’d love to see them! Share pics on our Facebook page!
