It’s down to the wire for Christmas gifts and if you are on a budget and you want to make the most of it, these DIY Folk Art Ornaments are inexpensive and easy to make. They look beautiful when finished and are the perfect little gift or accent on a present. I’ll be attaching these to some handmade caramel apples. You will need:
Laser-cut Wood Ornaments
FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint in Rose Shimmer, Ice Blue, and Peridot
FolkArt Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint in Hologram
6mm Pink Cup Sequins
Swarovski Elements Flat Back Crystals or Flat Back Rhinestones in Coordinating Colors
Beacon Gem Tac Adhesive
Crayon or Crystal Katana Rhinestone Applicator
Plaid Flat Paint Brushes
Wipe ornament clean to remove any splinters.
Paint two layers of FolkArt metallic paint. Allow to dry.
Paint one layer of FolkArt Extreme Glitter in Hologram. Allow to dry.
Attach sequins with glue as shown. Place three beads of glue evenly spaced between sequins except at top left and right, place three beads of glue there. Add three more evenly spaced beads of glue on the ornament cap. Add a bead of glue to the center of each sequin.
Apply crystals to center of each sequin and on the beads of glue, alternate colors.
